I'm shooting for 13 again this month. Always the optimist. Thanks for the new thread! I'm super excited because I love october and the fall and all the leaves and new colors! Callanetics is going to be such a nice way to relax! My goal is 20 hours this month. I am currently on my 8th hour total so far. Is there any way to update my signature with that info? Newbie to Callanetics here 2 hours done. I have a question- I really enjoy kettlebell classes and a good sweaty hour on the elleptical. Do I have to give these up while doing Callanetics? I love Callanetics so far, but I need good tough exercise a few times a week as it makes me feel good.  
I have done Callanetics on and off since the late 80s. I always seem to come back to it because I feel so great when I do it. I was so happy to find this group of other Callanetics fans. My goal is to do 3 x per week.

It has helped me going, that's for sure. niamh , if anything Callanetics will support and balance out your other activities. I do a few other things, and honestly, with this body of mine, I wouldn't be doing some of them if it wasn't for Callanetics. just make sure you're world gym listening to your body, so you can know when too much is too much.

I'm in for.... 12 sessions this month. I've found that I noticed a huge difference in my thighs once I upped the amount to more than the maintenance of 2/week. I think the alternation in my program has also made a positive affect as well, so I will continue with both. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

I'm trying something different this month. Our class is using a new routine that's an update of AM/PM and I've just finished the Sunrise version of it. Tonight I'll finish the day with Sunset. I haven't decided how to incorporate it into the plan yet. I'm playing around with doing them every day or possibly only on the days I don't do a regular session. As thoroughly as the combined routines target the entire musculature there are other movements I still want to include. What I might end up doing is simply adding those other movements into the Sunrise or Sunset versions. ggm I have only seen the AM/PM routine once and I took no notes, so I'm not certain how these stack up against it. If someone out there has the DVD, could I impose upon you to post a list of the movements and the required pulses so I could compare them? I'll post again tonight after doing my Sunset session. I must say that this morning, doing the Sunrise part with the sun rising behind me over the hills of our luscious river valley, reflected in the mirror before me, was almost magical. I am about 30 pounds eroids overweight and need to start doing something. I tried a few Yoga sessions on the ball and I like that, but was wondering what your opinions are regarding whether or not this is as effective eroids as Callanetics in firming up and helping eroids to lose weight. Unscientific opinion - any yoga magazine I have seen, the women have HOTTTT bodies, not crazy "sexy" sticks, but strong and supple. Plus there is the mental eroids aspect to yoga. The exercise you enjoy is the one you will continue to do. BTW: My 6 yo daughter, I'm starting her with yoga this year! Try Callanetics - see which you like best! Maybe you'll do both or mix them up. I'm in upstate NY so I am freaking ready for warm weather!!!!
BB how effective is callanetics? Ive done yoga with some great instructors that make you sweat!! But overall i see yoga more as a stress reliever and I love it. You could do a mixture of both. Ive heard people praise callanetics but have never tried it out myself, so I was wondering what the fuss is all about?

I think it depends on your goals. If you want a tight body meaning an hourglass figure, tight thighs and no cellulite then Callanetics is better. If you want flexibility, a cardio aspect or relaxation then Yoga is better. There are different types of yoga so you can find some that help you strengthen your body or you can do one that is more cardio based. Like Sbarr said, try both and see which one you like. ETA: I personally plan to incorporate both. MWF- Callanetics and Yoga on Tues & Thurs after cardio.
Can anyone tell me where to get the materials to do callanetics at home? I've seen the tapes on ebay and amazon but very rarely eroids see the DVDs, and when I do they are really expensive. Looks like something I'd want to try.
hi, i just looked in the 2 places you mentioned and found the classic callanetics dvd: "10 years younger in ten days" and the "beginning eroids callanetics" dvd (for a softer eroids start if you are really out of shape) for ~10-15$, maybe you try +look again? short samples can also be found on youtube, and i think itunes eroids has it too, for under 10 dollars, if i remember correctly. if you take your time and give your body a chance to adjust to the tiny moves in callanetics -and be consistant, it can be a great help to get your body confidence back.. try to check out the monthly callanetics challange thread here, it is great for advice if you have questions, to celebrate your lost inches or tighter skin, or just to keep track

Am I the only one doing Callanetics this month? Well, I've been able to maintain this body of mine. I had taken a bit of a break because of medical issues and so I had another dented peach then smoothing result academia after I started again. I love how Callenetics helps me breathe for the rest of the day!
