During the summers nice acquired as boys in the 1950s we would bathe in the lakes above the river Oakeley Quarry, Lagoon Pools as old people, but Raven's Nest Lakes they were called by us the younger generation.
One thing that I remember to this day is going to swim to a small lake with the guys at Raven's Nest One hot afternoon summer and Bunny and we Meical company. Once we wander up the path and climb the Step Footpath above onto Quarry Holland is small and everyone get to the lake for the first undress and jump into the water.
Now, since Bunny older than us and a good swimmer, he had plummeted over his head to the waters of the lake before we take off our pumps but within a few were walking out of the water with his hand over one eye and this -ei a saying shivyog in English that he had lost his eye. We failed for a moment and understood what had happened to him, and then here it says do not let Meical see me for a moment and gave a cloth over one side of his face.
We understood then after he explained to one of the older guys that glass eye (eye tjieni) was one of his eyes and that his place has come when dived into the lake. Failed to find her that day because the water is churned up and went home with a cloth over the eye socket but lost the next day, and after the water cleared, he returned there and I think it up to her. I believe that in the 1960s the family moved away to live small and this is the last time I see them ..
