In the blur of their suffering rarely stated, my husband and my country came together. Shame to have grown up without a face - not to remember - was equaled their kindness. The more they lose their features, they showed more kind to their peers, obedient to their masters, servile with their neighbors. By dint of seeking the approval of a stronger, bigger, mother, father more, more protective, Lebanon clothed gradually colonized emotional reflex that attaches to its own negation.
